March Greetings - LUCK with your home

Picture
This is a really fun month for the O’Reilly Home Team, and one dear to our hearts as we work and to our hearts as a family.
That’s cause we’re Irish!
And we know St. Patrick’s Day is headed our way this month. But what about housing and real estate? Did you know that March has another interesting “saintly” connection to buying and selling houses and land?

It’s St. Joseph! Two days after St. Patrick’s Day (the 17th), the feast day of St. Joseph arrives (Monday, March 19th). And Joseph is the traditional patron saint of Father’s, Families, and the Universal Church. That makes sense: the father in the “holy family” and a caregiver and provider for young Jesus.
But also, somewhere along the way, throughout the centuries, customs and practices changed. Additions were made. It’s unclear (you will have to go and do the research yourself or check and see about any upcoming symposium’s at the University of Dallas (udallas.edu)), but St. Joseph even became a figure for people wanting to sell their homes.
A practice grew up where people began to bury small statues of this patron saint of real estate, burying them in the yard that they wanted to sell! Huh! Who knows, there could be a buried St. Joseph statue in your yard right now!

As for St. Patrick, and the luck of the Irish, well our housing market is so crammed and rushed these days, it’s kind of like rolling the dice and seeing what happens out there. It can be exciting, and also frustrating, but you don’t have to imagine it alone or start doing the buying/selling process alone. Just reach out and I’ll take the time to get you set up for the best positioned experience we can expect.
Whether we plant any statues of Joseph in your yard or not,
that’s up to you!
